CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The RIASQ Section 0107 announces a call for nominations from the general section membership. Nominations may be submitted from the general membership for the position of Chair,
Secretary, and Treasurer. Nominations from the general section membership will require the submission of a nomination petition to the section secretary Jennifer Evans prior to February 5,
2012.
A minimum of 10 petition signatures from full Members (Regular, Senior or Fellow) in good standing (dues must be current) is required for each petition. The slate of candidates as presented by the RIASQ Nominating Committee is Patricia Ellis, Section Chair, Jennifer Evans, Secretary, and Robert McGinn, Treasurer.
Nomination Process
The nominating committee will nominate, at a minimum, one eligible candidate for each elected position. The minimum number of required petition signatures from Regular Members varies based on section size, and is the lower of at least four percent of Regular section members (based on the previous year’s June section membership) or 10 members.
If there is not more than one nominee for an elected position, the nominee will be declared elected by acclamation at the next regular meeting of this section. Any contested positions will be resolved through an election. Such election will be conducted in the manner deemed appropriate by the Leadership Committee (i.e., by regular mail, electronic mail, by ballot at a section meeting, etc.). The nominee with a plurality of the votes of the members will be declared elected. Elections must be held no later than a date that is certain to meet the requirements specified in the Society Policies.

QMP ( Quality Management Process )
Update
The Quality Management Process (QMP) combines and replaces the Section Management Process (SMP) and Division Management Process (DMP). It was developed to assist Member Units in their planning and implementation of services and programs to meet the needs of their current and future members. It is simply a management process that emphasizes the importance of:
• Assessing member needs and expectations.• Developing an annual business plan and operating budget.• Measuring the Member Units performance.
Combining the Society’s goals of increased member satisfaction, loyalty, and retention with the Member unit’s own goals, QMP encourages Member Units to continually measure, address, and improve customer satisfaction by incremental improvement. QMP also recognizes Member Units for performance (based on results) through two awards:
• Quality Excellence Award• Total Quality Award
The requirements for receiving recognition include meeting the Member Unit minimum requirements, developing and implementing a Member Unit annual business plan, operating budget, meeting all the QMP deadlines, and showing improvement on specific measures.
